Apprentice Teacher
Diego is the life and soul of wherever he goes. Once a gifted actor, now a dynamic YogaMonks Apprentice teacher.
Argentinian born, he grew up surrounded by music and movement and chose to train in performing arts. In his twenties he decided to set up home in London and by chance, took a YogaMonks class with Beth. He was immediately inspired by her unique openness and became a committed student. Slowly but surely the method began to positively affect all areas of his life and when the time was right, he set out on a formal apprenticeship with Jonathan.
‘There are many tensions created through urban living. For me, my dream of lessening the struggle between body and mind and being presented with a method that does this in such a compassionate and interesting way was enough to bring the decision to become a yoga teacher’.
Diego’s teaching schedule and his own daily practice are revealing both the needs of others and the complexity of his own spine – how it leaps and how it shows up the places where we are all stuck. He is loving the work and encourages connection with ‘mum’ (mother earth, the floor beneath our feet) and self-awareness in his classes, ‘Honesty through life and Yoga is my aim. Let the spine become an organic movement so that the movement allows union within the body.’
YogaMonks with Diego
Diego offers a dynamic Vinyasa class for all levels.
He teaches a new sequence every month, breaks it down and explores each movement in detail and then integrates to return to the whole and foster connection.
His classes cultivate internal awareness, external manifestation, health of the nervous system, connective tissue structure and one‘s ability to concentrate; they also dissolve self-imposed limitations. Diego works towards affecting the five bodies as acknowledged within the yogic system in a way that is relevant for life within this western urban environment.
